John Currenti brings strong and vast project management and construction skills developed over 20 years in the commercial sector (seven years at St Hilliers Construction, eight at Watpac Construction and three at Leighton Contractors) to provide a level of professionalism known to tier 1-2 builders.

John has delivered in excess of $800m of construction works, built 739 residential dwellings, delivered 22 major projects over his career and collected significant industry awards:

  • 2009 The Australian Institute of Building. Professional Excellence NSW Award category $10m-$50m
  • 2009 The Australian Institute of Building. Professional Excellence National Award category $10m-$50m
  • 2010 The Australian Institute of Building. Professional Excellence NSW Award category $100m plus
  • 2011 Master Builders Association NSW, Best Use of Concrete
  • 2011 Golden Trowel Award – Superflat floor Construction World Record
  • 2013 Master Builders Association Vic, Excellence in Construction of Commercial Buildings over $80m

Hugh Douglas-Garden grew up on a farm in rural NSW, which provided him with practical skills and knowledge to transfer into the building and construction industry for the last 8 years. Beginning out as a labourer carpenter for a small construction firm he made his way up to estimating and then coordinating projects.

Hugh worked with John for 2 years at Watpac in Melbourne. Here it became evident to John that Hugh held strong sub-contractor liaison skills, efficient program management and vast experience in a broad range of building knowledge and methods.

Hugh is a highly accomplished building professional.  Strategic in nature and has an exceptional ability to drive projects with strict programme deadlines, manage teams, contracts and sub-contractors and recognised for working collaboratively to ensure time, cost and quality of a project is delivered in line with clients expectations.

Georgie Currenti

Georgie Currenti

Finance Manager

Georgie’s entry into the property industry started in real estate finance at Westpac Banking Corporation. Over her 20+ year career, she has held a number of senior roles in local and international banks developing a strong skill set and experience in structured property finance and corporate finance.

More recently, Georgie has held a number of senior roles within the listed Property Funds Management sector, taking her banking experience and applying it to structure, originate and manage corporate & property debt facilities up to an aggregate of A$1.5B.

Georgie has a Masters in Applied Finance (2011) from Macquarie University Applied Finance Centre achieving the Prize for Academic Excellence in the unit of Hedge Funds and a Bachelor of Economics majoring in Economics and Business Law.

Consolidating a 20+ year career working in the structured property finance industry, Georgie’s role as finance director provides financial stability to the business and good corporate governance.

Michael met John Currenti back in 1995 at UTS where they both studied construction management. Michael has over 20 years of construction management experience with 12 of those owning and operating his own project management and consultancy company and a commercial and residential construction company.

Michael’s experience as a builder and director ensures he brings a wide range of experience and technical knowhow to Currenti Constructions.

Michael is passionate about design, quality construction and happy stakeholders. Michael possesses a proactive, problem solving attitude with a commitment to deliver construction projects on time and within budget.

Lingjie Yu

Project Coordinator

Lingjie joined Currenti Constructions in January 2018 after having worked as a graduated structural engineer, a finishes foreman and a field technician on a highway in China. Educated in Australia Lingjie has been an asset to the team with his thirst for knowledge.

Whilst at UNSW studying his undergraduate degree Lingjie had a high credit average of 72.4 with high distinctions in Engineering Mechanics for CE, Design Practice A and Structural Dynamics.

Lingjie is amazing, in that amount of work that he gets through is significant, we can’t give him enough work to do before he is asking for more, his thirst for knowledge and his willingness to help is a credit to his work ethic.
